Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
During the conversation, the heads of agencies discussed the schedule of upcoming political contacts at the highest level, the situation in the Central Asian region and the situation around the Iranian “nuclear deal”.
According to the Chinese Foreign Minister, Beijing is ready to “protect the legitimate rights and interests of the two countries and guarantee international justice and impartiality.
“Russia and China must continue to strengthen cooperation and coordination, make full use of their advantages and help regional countries to address such pressing issues as combating the Coronavirus pandemic, maintaining stability and economic recovery”, – Wang Yi said.
The Chinese Foreign Minister noted that Russia and China continue to play the role of “global stabilizers”, and bilateral cooperation is constantly bringing new results. He also said that “next year’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Russian-Chinese “Treaty of Good Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation” will enrich the strategic content of relations between Russia and China in a new era and will help bring comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries to a higher level”.
