The arrival of Russian peacekeepers to the long-suffering land of Artsakh gave the local residents a chance to return to their homes and to a peaceful life.
As Interfax reported with reference to the RF Ministry of Defense, almost half a thousand Armenian refugees were able to return to their homes in Stepanakert and other cities of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“On November 16, 2020, 482 refugees returned to Nagorno-Karabakh from the territory of the Republic of Armenia. A convoy of 19 buses followed the Yerevan-Stepanakert route, accompanied by patrols of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and military police, and arrived at the main square of Stepanakert”, – the message says.
Since November 14, 1200 people have already returned home with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers.
The Russian military department notes that concerns about the safety of the movement of buses across the contact line to return civilians to their homes fell on the shoulders of the Russian military.
