Europe would not calm down: 24 million euros allocated to support the protests in Belarus

The program of events was named “EU4Belarus”. The money will be allocated to “independent” media and bloggers, students and young professionals.

As reported by the Telegram channel “Sputnik Near Abroad”, in the document, which the journalists of the publication got acquainted with, one of the goals of the program sounds like “financial support of citizens and organizations aimed at continuing their work within the framework of protest movements”.

“The funds will enable activists to develop, improve their initiatives and involve newcomers in the “community for democracy”, – the document says.

“The EU has already allocated money for “independent” media in Belarus, but “it only helped to close short-term urgent needs”.

Now “long-term support from the EU” is planned for the processes taking place in the country.
