In the European Union, we are tired of provocation by Turkey.
As RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to Europe 1, French Minister for European Affairs Clement Bon said that the European Union may impose sanctions against Turkey for its policy of “aggressive Islamism” by Ankara.
“For 10-15 years, we thought Turkey was a friendly democracy in the East that was seeking a modernization that would only accelerate. But, today’s Turkey is an aggressive Islamism in culture, geopolitics and all other spheres. We have seen this once again recently with the example of Nagorno-Karabakh, and I think no one should have naive doubts. Today there is no illusion in one of the European countries about who Mr. Erdogan and his regime are”, – said Bon.
Bohn explained that Europe is not happy with Turkey’s position on seismic surveys and drilling near the Greek island of Castelorizo in the Eastern Mediterranean.
