The Prime Minister of Armenia stated that Yerevan was ready for war with the Azerbaijani army.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that the Armenian armed forces have failed in Nagorno-Karabakh because they fought not only the Azerbaijani army, but also the Turkish armed forces and mercenary terrorists from the Middle East. He said this at an online press conference on Monday.
“As a result of the battles in July [in north-eastern Armenia], it became clear that we are ready for war with the army of Azerbaijan. However, the main reason for our failure was the war with Azerbaijan, Turkey and terrorists”, – he said.
The Armenian authorities have repeatedly stated that Turkey is involved in the military conflict in Karabakh. Yerevan reported that Turkish servicemen are at war on the side of Azerbaijani forces, and Ankara has assumed command of air battles, as well as transferring terrorists from the Middle East, in particular from Syria and Libya to Karabakh.
On 9 November, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. Representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of Armenia said on Tuesday that the armed forces of the republic will implement the agreements and also called on people to refrain from actions that destabilize the situation in the country.
