Greece has sent an official letter to the United States requesting to sell it “18 or 24 F-35 fighters”

The Greek armed forces have written an appeal to Washington, D.C., stressing the “critical importance” of delivering the first planes in 2021.

According to the Turkish Agenda Channel, the Turkish press, citing Greek news publications, writes that Greece has asked Washington for an urgent delivery of F-35 fighters.

Earlier it was reported that the Greeks would receive six F-35 fighters that were built for the Turkish Air Force but remained in the US after Washington decided to exclude Turkey from the F-35 program due to the acquisition of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.
