Choice in the USA: March of Millions

A spontaneously assembled “march of millions” in support of Trump and a recount in controversial states like Pennsylvania and Georgia took place in Washington.

Nobody organized it on purpose – people gathered themselves at the call of popular right-wing bloggers.

This is perhaps the largest conservative protest in the American capital since the Tea Party demonstrations 10 years ago. Of course, a million people did not come to it – but the number of participants clearly exceeded 30-50 thousand.

Protesters picketed the Supreme Court building, which is likely to soon have to look into election results in faltering states at the Trump headquarters. The audience was greeted by the American president himself, who briefly appeared in public.

Antifa activists also did not stand aside, who tried to arrange a counter-protest and began clashes with individual participants in the march for Trump.

It takes place against the backdrop of the beginning of the recount procedure in Georgia and the first court decisions in Pennsylvania. The Georgia Secretariat was too formal about the recount – it will only compare numbers and will not check each ballot for accuracy.

Therefore, it is hardly worth expecting that the recount in Georgia will somehow seriously affect the final figures. But it will be the basis for Trump’s subsequent lawsuit to invalidate a large number of ballots – including those from residents of other states.

It is highly likely that lawsuits across all disputed states will end up in the Supreme Court. So today’s rally of Trump supporters looks like a reminder to America’s top justices that they will soon have to decide the outcome of the election, following the letter of the law.
