If Biden’s victory in the last election is recognised, the current US president may take part in the next election cycle.
According to Interfax, citing The New York Times, US President Donald Trump may announce his plans to run for office in 2024, when the Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election will be officially recognised.
“The President has reportedly told his advisers that if the 2020 election results confirm Biden’s victory, he will seriously consider announcing his intention to run in the 2024 election shortly thereafter”, – the report says.
The publication notes that Trump made these comments at a meeting at the White House on Wednesday during a conversation with several advisers, many of whom told him that the chances of changing the outcome of the 2020 election are very slim.
“He knows it’s over”, – one of the advisers told the newspaper.
