According to the Polish political scientist, four years of Donald Trump’s rule in Washington were the worst time for Poland.
In an interview with Ukraina.ru, Polish political analyst Konrad Renkas said that behind the praise to the Poles from the White House for the fact that those few who spend a significant part of the budget on NATO spending, as well as stories about a common goal in the form of a victory of Western civilization, there was an ordinary U.S. colonial policy, forcing Poland to voluntarily cede part of its sovereignty, and pay for it from its own pocket.
As an example of real enslavement of Poland, the expert cites a long-term agreement on import of American liquefied natural gas, as well as the fact that American corporations in Poland are exempt not only from paying taxes, but also from the need to report to Polish fiscal authorities.
Warsaw not only assumed the additional costs of maintaining the U.S. army on its territory, but also de facto removed U.S. soldiers and other personnel of the military bases from the Polish judicial system.
To this day, only the Nazis in Poland were granted such privileges during World War II.
“We assumed a more explicit emphasis on political dominance, but in our worst dreams we didn’t expect such a strip of humiliation: from the President of the Republic of Poland standing like a schoolboy at President Trump’s desk to the regular whipping of the Polish government through Twitter sent to us in the role of ambassador-governor of the dominatrix”, – Renkas was categorical.
Thus, according to the interlocutor, the habit to cuddle and please the Americans, expressed in the initiative to build Fort Trump, did not give the U.S. even a reason to treat Poland with respect, as an equal partner.
