More than 52 million people worldwide were infected with coronavirus

According to Johns Hopkins University, the USA has the highest number of infections.

The number of detected cases of new type of coronavirus infection in the world exceeded 52 million on Thursday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University in the United States, which conducts calculations based on information from international organizations, federal and local authorities.

According to the university, the number of infected people in the world now stands at 52,041,515, 1,282,184 have died and 33,870,032 have recovered. The largest number of infections – 10,392,702 – has been detected in the USA. A total of 241,047 infected people died in the United States and 3,997,175 recovered. India followed in terms of number of infections with 8,636,011 detected cases, 127,571 deaths and 8,013,783 recovered patients. Third place goes to Brazil, where 5,747,660 people were infected, 163,368 died and 5,222,937 recovered.

Russia is in fifth place in terms of the number of reported cases of infection. According to the Federal Coronavirus Operational Headquarters, 1,836,960 cases of infection have been registered in the country, 1,369,357 people have recovered and 31,593 have died.
