Dodon initiates a mass demonstration in Chisinau before the elections

The second round of elections is scheduled for 15 November

The President of Moldova Igor Dodon, running for the second term, announced a mass demonstration before the second round of elections of the head of the republic. He announced this on Thursday on Facebook.

“On Friday we plan a grandiose march in the centre of Chisinau. There will be several thousand people – at a distance, of course”, – he said.

According to the Central election commission of Moldova, during the first round of elections which has passed on November 1, any of candidates for presidency could not collect more than 50 % of voices of voters. Therefore for definition of the winner the second round which is planned for November 15 will be necessary. It will be attended by the leader of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maya Sandu, who received 487,000 votes in the first round, and Dodon, who received 439,000 votes.
