Armen Sargsyan stated that he learned about the trilateral statement on Nagorno-Karabakh from the press. He stressed that he had nothing to do with the signing of the document. This was reported by the presidential press service.
“I learned from the press that a statement was signed with the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan to end the Karabakh war. I also learned from the press about the conditions for ending the war. As with the president of the republic, unfortunately, there were no consultations and discussions with me on this document, I did not take part in any negotiations”, – the press service said in a statement.
According to Sargsyan, “the settlement of the Karabakh conflict is a matter of state importance”.
He announced his intention to initiate political consultations as soon as possible in order to immediately agree on solutions arising from the agenda for the protection of national interests.
“As the president of the republic, at this decisive moment of national preservation, I consider the formation of national unity as my current mission”, – the Armenian president said.
