Rio de Janeiro plus? – Ukraine is looking for a way to buy the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 through Brazil

The Ukrainian Embassy in the Federative Republic of Brazil has sent inquiries regarding the prospects for the export of COVID-19 vaccines to the Brazilian state institutions Biomagniunhos and Butantan, which are partners of their manufacturers, but has not yet received a response.


According to “Economic Pravda”, the expert organization StateWatch, citing a letter from the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, states that the Ukrainian Embassy in Brazil has sent inquiries regarding the prospects for exporting vaccine against COVID-19 to Brazilian state institutions that are partners their manufacturers, and also sent to Ukraine detailed information about foreign manufacturers who are testing the vaccine in Brazil.

“The embassy warns the Ukrainian government that first of all Brazil will meet the needs of the domestic market, which is more than 210 million people, and notes that Brazil is not a manufacturer of vaccines, but only tests them and purchases mixtures for further production in the country”, – the message said.

At the moment, Brazil is testing several vaccines from different manufacturers, one of which is the Russian Sputnik-V vaccine.
