FT names Biden’s biggest challenge since taking office

\Joe Biden will face the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic after taking office as President of the United States, reports the Financial Times, citing health experts.

According to experts’ forecasts, the democrat will inherit a “potentially catastrophic situation” associated with a sharp increase in the number of infected and complicated by the population’s distrust of doctors and medical recommendations.

“The virus is already out of control in many parts of the country, and this is the ideal scenario for its further spread”, – warned the former head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Tom Frieden.

Earlier, Biden announced plans to create a group of advisers to develop a plan to fight the coronavirus. The Democrat stressed that he would not “spare the effort and commitment to reverse the pandemic”.

According to media reports, Democrat Joe Biden won the presidential elections, he has already proclaimed himself the winner. Trump has not admitted defeat, his lawyers are filing lawsuits in the courts of various states with demands to suspend the vote count and investigate the alleged violations.

By law, the president-elect must take office on January 20, 2021.
