The British Chief of Defence Staff described the threat of a new world war as real

As Nick Carter pointed out, miscalculations in the analysis of the world situation “led to two world wars in the last century.”

According to TASS, speaking at the National Army Museum in London on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance dedicated to the memory of British soldiers who died in conflicts with the United Kingdom in an interview with Sky News, the British Chief of Defence Staff, Nick Carter, said that the presence of many regional military conflicts now makes a real threat of a new world war.

“We are living at a time when the world is troubled and uncertain. I believe that the risk is that several regional conflicts are now unfolding at the same time. Escalation leads to the wrong assessment of the situation – that’s what we have to protect ourselves from”, –  Carter said.

According to him, it was miscalculations in the analysis of the world situation that “led to two world wars in the last century.

“Decision makers sometimes do not understand the consequences of their actions, which leads to increased tensions. This means that more and more people are getting involved, more and more diverse weapons are being used. And this flow of events is already difficult to stop, which ultimately leads to a full-scale war”, –  Carter pointed out.
