At the request of the Republicans, the Supreme Court of the United States ordered the separation from the total number of ballots that came to the polls in Pennsylvania after they had closed on election day.
“All district election commissions have been instructed, until further notice by the court, to comply with the requirement <…> that all ballots received by mail after 8 p.m. on 3 November be separated <…> and that all such ballots, if counted, be counted separately”, – the ruling says.
Earlier, representatives of the Republican Party of the United States in Pennsylvania appealed to the Supreme Court to stop processing ballots received at polling stations after November 3, but before 5:00 pm on November 6 (01:00 pm on November 7).
According to CNN, after processing 96% of the ballots in Pennsylvania (20 voters), Biden outpaced Trump by almost 20,000 votes.
The US presidential election took place on 3 November. The winner of the election race has not yet been determined.
