While the liberals are jubilant, Donald Trump’s supporters are mobilizing, which could turn into a new wave of chaos in American cities.
According to Associated Press, Trump can count on 214 votes and Biden on 264. The New York Times has a different score: 213 for a Republican and 253 for a Democrat.
“It’s hard to believe that we all went to bed on Tuesday night and Trump was so far ahead and now he’s behind us”, – 72-year-old George Woska, a former Illinois official, told Reuters.
He arrived in Madison, where a rally in support of Trump was taking place outside the state administration building. The same rally was held in Phoenix. Here the demonstrators chanted: “Stop stealing”. Many protesters were armed and brought pistols and rifles.
Although the protests are still peaceful, members of the left-wing extremist organisation Black Lives Matter tried to provoke clashes in Detroit. During the rally, they broke into an area that was cordoned off by police for a Trump rally. The law enforcers had to intervene to avoid being beaten up.
Such incidents can happen again, given that conservative rallies will be held on Saturday in 60 cities in six key states. They are being summoned on social networks using the hashtag #StopTheSteal [Stop stealing].
The Americans have long been preparing for violence to erupt again in the streets. Against this background, a record number of US citizens have been trying to get permission to enter other countries. Those who did not want to run were arming themselves. According to analysts, arms sales jumped into the United States as early as spring. In August, they already exceeded last year’s figure.
