The US Postal Service has reported the discovery of an additional 1,700 ballots in Pennsylvania

The bulletins have already been sent to the state election commissions, where counting continues.

The U.S. Postal Service reported the discovery on Thursday at its Pennsylvania offices of about 1,700 more ballots mailed by state residents in time for the country’s general election day and directly on 3 November. All of these ballots are said to have already been sent to state election commissions where counting is ongoing.

Under Pennsylvania law, ballots sent by mail must be received no later than Friday evening. Otherwise, they will not be taken into account when votes are counted.

In Pennsylvania (20 voters), 95 per cent of the ballots are currently processed. So far, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump (49.5% of the vote) has led by a slight margin, but his margin from Democrat candidate Joseph Biden (49.2%) is falling rapidly. Biden’s victory in Pennsylvania, according to a majority media forecast, will mean that he will receive the necessary 270 votes to win.
