The representative of the Socialist Movement, Sebastian Michel, said that on the evening of 5 November several people blew up a dynamite checker at the party’s headquarters.

Unknown people blew up a stick of dynamite in the building where Bolivian President-elect Luis Arce was located. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the party “Movement to Socialism”, of which the politician is a member.

“Sebastian Michel, a spokesman for the Socialist Movement, said that several people attempted to assassinate President Elect Luis Arce on Thursday evening by blowing up a stick of dynamite at the party’s headquarters when a meeting was held there”, –  the report said.

According to Michel, no one was injured in the explosion. Police inspected the scene and began investigating the incident. Michael also accused the interim government of not taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the elected president.

“We have not seen any statements in this regard from Interior Minister Arturo Murillo, so we understand that we are on our own and not protected at all”, –  said the representative of the Movement for Socialism.
