According to the expert, the immaturity of the political elite of these countries will most likely lead to a situational response to the future results of the US elections.
In an interview with Ukraina.ru, Rossiya Segodnya observer Rostislav Ishchenko said that the American satellites will have a hard time in the period of uncertainty in the United States, which may drag on. They will have to wait for the final results in order to be able to adjust the agenda of their own foreign or domestic policy, since they do not have free political will.
The internal American split will inevitably affect the further fate of the political regimes of Poland, the Baltic countries and Ukraine. In the case of the latter, everything is especially difficult, since in Kiev today nothing is done without a tip from the US Embassy.
“So one or the other solution is also possible here. Often this will depend not so much on the internal political situation in these states or international events, but on what manner of response the administrative apparatus of these countries considers more effective. But this does not mean that the very manner of response will be more effective. They just might consider it as such”, – Ischenko said.
With this approach, the cost of an error in choosing the correct behavioral tactics, as well as its probability, is very high. What makes the local political elites nervous, catching literally every “sneeze” from Washington.
