Winners will be judged: on the likelihood of “Maidan” in the U.S. after the presidential elections

America, which has always been considered a model of democracy, this time is ready to elect the president not at the polling stations or even in the Supreme Court, but in the course of street clashes

The 2020 U.S. presidential election is unique regardless of who wins for many reasons.

In particular, because there is no other candidate besides the incumbent head of state Donald Trump: some are for him, others are against, even the establishment of the Democratic Party says: yes, former Vice President Joe Biden may not be so good, but he is better than Trump.

In addition, a record high voter turnout was recorded: more than 99 million people voted ahead of schedule alone, of which almost 64 million by mail (for comparison: according to the results of the previous elections, a total of about 37.8 million used this method), 35.7 million came to the sites. This interest is not due to the sharply awakened sense of civic duty in the Americans, but to an unprecedented split in society, which mobilized the electorate of both parties.

Civil war is sweeping across the country

At a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya press center, the Dean of the Faculty of World Politics, Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov, Andrei Sidorov said that on November 3, mainly Republicans will come to the polls, so Trump will lead at the first stage of summing up the voting results. In addition, in fluctuating states, there are more Republicans among the registered voters, and several questions arise: will the owner of the White House declare himself the winner, and how the Democrats will react to this, will he use administrative resources to take control of the situation on the streets during the summer riots insisted that state governors do it.

On November 4, the president’s name will not be known, so the showdown between representatives of the two parties will continue, people are ready for clashes. In 2000, the election proceedings took place in the Supreme Court and lasted until December 12, but now it is unprofitable for Democrats to bring the case to such a stage, because the majority in the court belongs to the Republicans, so they will take people to the streets.

“The winners will be judged – if not at venues specially designated for this, then they will certainly be judged in society. The reason for this situation is the total discrediting of the institution of the presidency, which happened during the preparation and conduct of the 2016 elections. Moral breakdown, disregard for consensus in civil society, for which American political culture has always been famous, have led to the fact that we are now deciding where the fate of the presidential elections will be decided: on the street or in the courts”, – the Director of the Political Information Center said.

According to the political scientist, the current election campaign in the United States is not a war of electoral technologies, speeches, comparison of candidates, but a war of stereotypes. Some stereotypes have gone to war on other stereotypes in American society, and it is not even clear which of them will win: either the people who brought the Black lives matter movement onto the streets and created artificial political turbulence, or conservatives who are tired of this turbulence and address the society with the words that is Iran, China, Russia, and the Americans must focus on solving their national problems not on the territory of the country.

“The elections, from the right to protest, turned into an excuse to rebel and not recognize the results of the elections. The current elections are threatened with mutual non-recognition of the results, which is quite symptomatic, because this is how the branches of the State Department known to us – the American embassies – operated in different countries: in Ukraine, in Moldova and others. This is how they formalized the presidential elections almost always, and now what happened in these countries has returned, as they say, to its origins, to the territory of the United States itself. It does not surprise me”, – the Director said.

In mid-September, the Revolver News portal reported that Democratic Party officials are using the same tactics in the country that were used by US intelligence to launch “color revolutions” in other countries, such as Ukraine.

How this happens, on the air of Fox News, said an employee of this portal, and in the past speechwriter of the current US President Darren Beatty. According to him, one of the key figures in this operation is the Democratic Party functionary who worked in the previous administration, Norm Aizen, the author of the “color revolution manual”, in which a scenario with rigging election results is proposed to overthrow unwanted regimes to create mass protests  questioning the legitimacy of a particular leader.

In addition, in late 2019 – early 2020, he advised Democrats on impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump.

“In fact, in the last elections in the USA they disavowed the well-known truth that the only country in the world where a “color revolution” is impossible is the USA, because there is no American embassy there. It seems that in 2016 this notorious American embassy in the United States nevertheless emerged, and those mechanisms or technologies for distorting elections abroad are in the interests of the United States, and in the United States, in the interests of the Democratic Party, whose representatives have become famous all over the world as specialists in “Color coups”, surprisingly began to be realized in the United States itself”.

Elements of a civil war already exist, it is another matter that they are packed in some kind of beautiful wrappers and they say: no, no, this is not what you thought, this is a consequence of a pandemic, psychosis in society, you need to understand and forgive. However, if these wrappers are removed, then the elements of civil war are evident.

“The degradation of the American political class is taking place at an incredible speed. Why is this happening? Good question. Perhaps, having drunk the blood of “color revolutions” around the world, they went a little crazy. I do not know why they themselves are destroying what they had, but this is a fact – a process of self-destruction is underway, “, – said Alexei Martynov, director of the International Institute of Newest States, at a press conference.

The answer to the current situation lies in the last century.

Many experts call 2016 a turning point for American society, when the odious billionaire Donald Trump, who has no political experience, who does not select expressions even in public speeches, unexpectedly won the presidential elections, and was opposed by the former Secretary of State, the former first lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton.

However, associate professor of the Department of International Security at the Faculty of World Politics, Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov Aleksey Fenenko notes that key events occurred much earlier, at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, when the transformation of America began, which continues to this day. We are talking about long-term processes in which the event, which during the 1992 presidential campaign was called the “Red-Blue Divide”, takes place, its final or intermediate final we see at the present time.

“First, at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, a value split began to form between Republicans and Democrats. During the 20th century in America there was also a conditional party of the center, that is, moderate Republicans and Democrats often adopted slogans from each other, and it was clear that nothing radical would happen if one or the other won.

Since the end of the last century, there has been an ideological and value delimitation between Republicans and Democrats on key issues (abortion, illegal migration, attitudes towards non-whites and problems of political correctness), due to which dangerous interpersonal disagreements arose, representatives of the two parties even stopped communicating with each other”, – clarified the political scientist.

This led to the second tendency – the split in American society is approximately equal, and this is very dangerous for the country.

The third aspect is the ideological and territorial demarcation of America, that is, states emerged that began to enjoy the stable sympathy of certain candidates. On the side of the Republicans are traditionally the sympathies of the inner America of the southern states, the Democrats of the East and West coasts.

Finally, the change in polarity in America: the conditional South, which until the 1960s was always the mainstay of the Democrats, after the reforms of Presidents John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon split off, and the liberal North, on the contrary, moved to the Democratic position. The two parties have switched places in their programs and political sympathies.

Everyone in America hopes for the best, that the elections will be held peacefully, and the name of the president will be determined thanks to the ballots, but they have long begun to prepare for the worst: plywood has been the most sought-after product in recent weeks, people are nailing up their windows, and businessmen – shop windows, fearing looters, and hooligans, some shops stopped selling weapons and bats on the eve of the vote, the White House building was surrounded by a double fence.

This is how the president is elected in a country that called itself the most democratic and which has implanted this very democracy all over the world.
