Many were counting on Biden’s clear victory. Polls and widespread mobilization of voters spoke about this. But now this scenario is no longer relevant. The odds are 50 to 50. This is unexpected.
Whoever becomes president, the main themes in transatlantic relations will remain the same as expectations from Germany. However, communication with President Biden would be different – respectful and with the understanding that we need each other.
