This was the reaction of the Lithuanian authorities to the launch of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, located near the Lithuanian border.
“Our systems have recorded the production of electricity at the nuclear power plant in Ostrovets (the station is located near the town of Ostrovets, Grodno region – ed). In response to this, a zero pass has been established for the commercial flow of electricity from Belarus”, – Litgrid, the operator of the Lithuanian electricity network, says.
The Lithuanian authorities claim that the BelNPP poses a threat to national security. They also banned the purchase of its electricity through their power grids.
In Belarus, they are convinced that the indignation of Vilnius has a political basis. Minsk has repeatedly stressed that the safety of the station will be carried out at the highest level.
Recall that on Tuesday the first unit of the BelNPP was included in the country’s energy system.
