Political scientist Sergei Karnaukhov in his Telegram channel analyzed the causes of terrorist attacks in Europe and assessed the anti-terrorist activities carried out in Russia.
According to Karnaukhov, it is impossible to counter terrorism without the interaction of the special services of different countries.
“They could prepare terrorist attacks in Istanbul or London. Then gather in Vienna and attack. They should have been identified there. And to stop on the way, at the borders, if they did not manage to liquidate them at the “bases”, – the expert believes.
The political scientist sees Europe’s tolerance as one of the reasons for such incidents.
“But Europe is tolerant. Europe is atomized. And Europe is at war with those countries where terrorism is incubated. Where does it grow from and take on terrible forms”, – continued Karnaukhov.
The expert also noted the effective anti-terrorist activities of Russia. According to Sergei Karnaukhov, in 2019 Russia liquidated 49 terrorist cells that planned attacks in various regions.
“If in 2019 more than 7,000 people died in the world, then in Russia, the efforts of the FSB of the Russian Federation prevented 39 terrorist attacks, neutralized 32 militants, 679 were detained, 22 are inclined to abandon terrorist activities”, – he added.
