Eirik Christophersen, chief of defense of Norway, announced the deployment of Russian soldiers at the border with Norway.
In his statement Christophersen said that Russia has placed “about 12 thousand soldiers on the border with Norway and 50 thousand in the Murmansk region.
Cooperation between the Nordic countries is constantly developing. Norway, Sweden and Finland have signed an agreement to expand cooperation in defense.
However, it is extremely doubtful that the commander of Erik Christophersen’s level is not aware that the Northern Fleet is only one of the five districts of the Russian Armed Forces. All the more so because it is the smallest.
According to the expert community, these statements are a way to get additional funds for naTo collective security from the norwegian budget.
