Media: North Carolina police dispersed the protesters

Several children were injured as a result of police actions

Alamans County police in North Carolina dispersed protesters who had come out in support of the upcoming US presidential election. This was reported by the local newspaper The News&Observer on Saturday.

According to the newspaper, law enforcement officials ordered the crowd to disperse. After the demonstrators refused to comply, the police used pepper gas against them and began arresting the protesters. It is noted that as a result of police actions, several children who also took part in the action were injured.

The upcoming general elections in the USA on 3 November will elect a president and vice president, 35 senators, all 435 members of the House of Representatives, 13 state and territory governors and local authorities. Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Biden are competing for the presidency. According to the United States Elections Project, over 90 million people voted early.
