In the centre of Barcelona, a protest was held against the restrictive measures newly introduced in the country to combat the COVID-19 coronavirus.
The rally ended in clashes between protesters and the police. More than 20 people were injured and 12 detained as a result of the riots.
According to the source, about 50 protesters started setting fire to bins and throwing stones and fireworks at the police. In total, the agency estimates that about 700 people took part in the action.
