About 50 people attacked one temple in the Austrian capital, shouting “Allah Akbar”
According to FAN, the Kurier newspaper reported with reference to the police that about 50 young people broke into the Catholic Church of St Anthony of Padua in Vienna and made a debacle.
“The incident took place on Thursday evening in the Favoriten district. The attackers shouted out “Allah Akbar”, kicked the confessional and the shops. The deputy abbot called the police, but the attackers fled before the police arrived”, – the report said.
The incident was condemned by Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer. The minister promised to protect the Christian community with all his might.
“I immediately instructed the Commissioner General for Public Security to notify all police stations of current events and to strengthen control over public space, especially in the Favoriten area”, – the Minister said.
