Robert O’Brien, National Security Adviser to the US President, said that despite Turkey’s denials, there is a lot of information that this country has involved Syrian mercenaries in the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. O’Brien said this at a meeting with the Armenian community in Los Angeles.
“Azerbaijan uses oil money to buy military equipment. It receives technical assistance from Turkey. Despite Turkey’s denials, there are numerous reports in the open media that Turkey is engaging Syrian mercenaries in the conflict”, – he said.
O’Brien added that three humanitarian ceasefire agreements have been reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which have not been respected.
“This is a war that is a tragedy for the people who live there”, – O’Brien said.
