US sold fuel confiscated from Iran

Ministry of Justice also confiscated two consignments of Iranian weapons.

The funds will be donated by Washington to the State-sponsored Terrorism Victims Fund.

The US authorities sold about 1.1 million barrels of Iranian gasoline that was destined for Venezuela. This was announced on Thursday, October 29, by the press service of the US Department of Justice.

It is noted that a US court issued a warrant for the confiscation of previously intercepted fuel in August this year. For this gasoline, Washington will receive more than $40 million.

“It is with great pleasure that I can announce our intention to collect the proceeds from the sale of this fuel and transfer it, upon completion of the case, to the US Fund for Victims of Terrorism Sponsored by States”, – said Assistant Attorney General John Demers, who oversees matters of national security.

The Justice Department also announced that it had confiscated two shipments of missile and other types of Iranian weapons that were intercepted by the US military in the Arabian Sea in November 2019 and February 2020.

We will remind, the US authorities have again expanded the sanctions list against Iran. This time, five Iranian organizations got into it for trying to influence the American presidential elections.
