Georgia did not permit Ukrainian observers follow the elections

Tbilisi has canceled the permission for the arrival of about 30 Ukrainian MPs from three factions, who were supposed to become observers during the voting in the parliamentary elections in Georgia on October 31.

According to Interfax, the Ukrainian People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People faction, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Yelizaveta Yasko said that Ukrainian deputies were not allowed to participate in the elections in Georgia as observers.

“On October 31 the next elections to the Georgian parliament will take place. About 30 People’s Deputies of Ukraine from three factions have planned a visit to the country to be observers during the voting. The trip was to take place at the invitation of UNM, the leading opposition party. However, tonight the Georgian authorities canceled the permission to receive the plane from Ukraine”, – Yasko wrote on Facebook.

Yasko stressed that despite everything, Ukrainians support the Georgian people and democracy in this wonderful country, and Ukraine is ready to work with the democratically elected future parliament of Georgia, regardless of the configuration of the majority and the name of the prime minister.
