The U.S. intends to sell Harpoon coastal defense systems to Taiwan for $2.37 billion

The US administration has already officially notified the US Congress of its decision.

The United States plans to supply Taiwan with about $2.37 billion worth of arms, the U.S. State Department and a dedicated government agency within the Pentagon said on Monday. It is responsible for supplying military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental contracts, promoting ties between the U.S. Armed Forces and the armies of other countries, providing financial and technical assistance to foreign partners of Washington in the field of defense.

We are talking about 100 coastal defence systems, which include 400 Harpoon anti-ship missiles as well as related equipment.

The American administration has already officially notified the US Congress of its decision. The U.S. legislature now has 30 days to review these new agreements and possibly block them. However, you can be almost certain that Congress will give the green light to implement these agreements.
