MiG-29M/M2 fighters will replace MiG-29S, which is in service with the 193rd Algeria Air Force Fighter Squadron.
The Algerian Air Force received the first batch of MiG-29M/M2 fighters from Russia. This was announced by the Algerian specialized portal menadefense.net.
According to him, the planes were delivered disassembled and are now being prepared for their first flights at the airbase near Oran.
MiG-29M/M2 fighters will replace MiG-29S, which is in service with the 193rd Fighter Squadron of the Algerian Air Force. As the publication notes, these planes are identical to the Egyptian version.
According to it, two contracts for the supply of a squadron of MiG-29M/M2 fighters and a squadron of Su-30MKA to Algeria were signed with Rosoboronexport (part of Rostekh) during the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2019.
Rosoboronexport did not comment on this information.
