Thousands of protests took place in various Polish cities after the Constitutional Court of the Republic ruled that termination of pregnancy due to fetal disease is not in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
In Warsaw, Gdansk, Poznan and other cities the number of protesters reached several thousand. In the morning, protesters against the new ban appeared at churches. “My body is my choice”, “What do you know about childbirth”, “Abortion is a right”, “The Church, out of politics” – the texts on the banners of the protesters read. In the evening, protests continued at the Presidential Palace in the capital.
Both in Warsaw and in other cities there were clashes between supporters and opponents of abortion. It is known about the use of tear gas by the police in Poznan and Katowice.
