Aliyev sets conditions for a ceasefire in Karabakh for Armenia

The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that he was ready for a new truce in Nagorno-Karabakh.

He said this in a conversation with Fox News.

At the same time Aliyev said that Armenia “must reaffirm its commitment to the basic principles of the settlement”. Baku insists that the region should be given to Azerbaijan.

Spokesperson for the Armenian Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyana responded to statements made by the President of Azerbaijan. He stressed that Armenia had spoken many times about its commitment to peacefully resolve the conflict, but the ceasefire had been broken by Baku.
