State Department hints at the upcoming “heat” in Belarus

Americans who find themselves in Belarus are advised to stock up on food, medicine and cash, since the country’s authorities refused to comply with the demands of a housewife who considers herself the winner of the presidential election.

On Sunday, October 25, the deadline for the next ultimatum of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya expires. Hiding in Lithuania, she, among other things, demanded that Alexander Lukashenko resign as president. Otherwise, Tikhanovskaya threatened to start riots in the country.

Against this background, the US Embassy has published recommendations for Americans in Belarus. They are advised to stock up on at least a three-day supply of food, water, medicine, money, and other essentials; always carry an ID, including a US passport.

Americans are also strongly advised to avoid places where extremists are congregated, which is supported by official Washington, and “watch what is happening around”.
