Russian citizen injured in missile attack on Ganja dies

According to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan, this is a teenager born in 2007.


As reported by TASS, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan announced on Saturday the death of a Russian citizen, who suffered a week ago in a rocket attack on the city of Ganja.

“The citizen of the Russian Federation Artur Vladimirovich Mayakov, born in 2007, who was wounded as a result of an enemy missile strike on Ganja on October 17, died today in the hospital, despite the medical assistance provided”, – the statement posted on the agency’s website says.

In turn, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, informed that Artur was staying with his aunt in Ganja. He noted that the boy will be buried in accordance with Orthodox traditions with the assistance of the city administration and the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

“The Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan was notified about this through the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry”, – Hajiyev said.
