US senators demand that Trump urgently invent sanctions on Navalny case

American senators demand that the US President Donald Trump impose sanctions against Russia because of the “poisoning” of blogger Alexei Navalny.

They sent letters to the head of the State Department Michael Pompeo and the US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin.

The text of the document was posted on the website of the interim head of the US Senate for intelligence Republican Marco Rubio.

It says that the Trump administration is allegedly actively looking for those responsible, and therefore needs sanctions. True, the logic is striking: they are only looking for the guilty, but Russia needs to be punished now.
