Demand to close U.S. biolabs goes international

Concern about the Pentagon’s activity spread to Moldova, where the Communist Party joined in the demand for the immediate closure of American biological laboratories.

With their statement, the Moldovan communists supported like-minded people from Georgia and Kazakhstan, where they are already actively collecting signatures against the Pentagon’s spread of biological weapons.

At the moment, about 1.5 thousand American biological laboratories operate around the world. In particular, they concentrate on the post-Soviet space at the Russian borders. One of the most famous is the Georgian laboratory of Lugar. More than a dozen similar objects have been created in Ukraine. Only they pose a threat not only to Russia, but also to European countries, according to the expert community.

Against this background, the Socialist Movement of Kazakhstan, the United Communist Party of Georgia and other left-wing political formations began to seek a ban on the placement of US laboratories in their countries. The Moldovan communists supported the international campaign, since, according to some sources, a military biological laboratory is also located in the republic.

“We, the Moldovan communists, see in this not only a direct threat to the life and health of citizens, but also a provocative manifestation of the policy of American neo-colonialism. On the territory of sovereign independent states, there can be no objects not controlled by the official authorities. Especially for military purposes”, – the party said in a statement.

The authors recalled that the country’s constitution prohibits the deployment of foreign military facilities in Moldova. The communists have already sent a request to the Information and Security Service of Moldova with a demand to confirm or deny the existence of military biological in the country.

“The time has come to tear the veil of secrecy from this topic, which has become a figure of silence for the Moldovan authorities”, – the publication says.
