Bolivia plans to strengthen relations with Russia after a socialist took over as president of the South American country.
Last Sunday, the Bolivians secured a presidential victory for Luis Arce, who is considered to be Evo Morales’ nominee. This choice was made by the citizens of Bolivia after a year of repression, which was arranged for them by the US protege Jeanine Agnes.
Agnes took the lead in last year’s coup d’état. Then the opposition accused the government of rigging the presidential election in favor of Morales, but now the Bolivians have confirmed their commitment to the socialist course. Even the opposition had to admit that Arce won honestly in the repeated presidential race.
Bolivia’s previously elected president has already received congratulations from Russian leader Vladimir Putin. In response, Arce assured that he intends to strengthen relations between Bolivia and Russia.
“We are grateful for the congratulations of our brother Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and for the visit that Ambassador to Bolivia Vladimir Sprinchan paid us today. We will strengthen relations between our countries for the benefit of our peoples”, – Arce said.
