Texas remains the state that leads in terms of the number of voters who voted early in the elections
Over 35 million US citizens voted early in the forthcoming general elections in November. Calculations were published on Tuesday on the United States Elections Project portal, created by Florida State University Professor Michael McDonald.
A total of 35,540,036 people have already voted early in the US, according to him. Texas remains the state leading in terms of the number of people who voted early, with 4,708,734 Americans having already voted. This is followed by the states of California (3 989 304), Florida (3 033 702) and North Carolina (1 853 540). The number of early adopters exceeds one million in Georgia, Michigan, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The upcoming general elections in the USA on 3 November will elect a president and vice president, 35 senators, all 435 members of the House of Representatives, 13 state and territory governors and local authorities. Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joseph Biden are competing for the presidency. The new US president will be inaugurated on 20 January 2021.
