Sadyr Zhaparov, who is acting President of Kyrgyzstan after Sooronbai Zheenbekov left, spoke about his participation in future elections
He cannot run for office now. Current legislation does not allow the person acting as president to participate in elections.
Zhaparov stated that he is ready to run for the main post of the country if changes in the legislation allow him to do so.
“Amendments to the legislation on parliamentary and presidential elections are currently being prepared in Parliament. If, as a result of these changes, the law allows me to participate in elections, I will go. But it’s too early to talk about it, a decision has not yet been made on this issue”, – he said.
