The President of Azerbaijan called the missile strikes on the city of Ganja a war crime.
According to TASS, on Saturday, in an address to the nation, which was shown by the state television channel AzTV, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called the missile strikes on the city of Ganja a war crime and said that the Armenian leadership should be held responsible for shelling civilians.
“Rocket attacks on the city of Ganja are a war crime, the Armenian leadership should be held accountable for shelling civilians”, – he said.
Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan will respond “to this crime on the battlefield”.
“We are not shelling civilians”, – he said.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, on Saturday night as a result of a missile strike on the second largest city of Azerbaijan, Ganja, 13 civilians were killed and 52 people were injured. Aide to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev stated that Scud ballistic missiles were fired at the city from the territory of Armenia.
