The Crimea and Donbas prevented Poroshenko from winning the presidential election

Ilya Kiva, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, is sure that in 2014 Kiev politicians deliberately went for the loss of the Crimea and Donbass

Petro Poroshenko is very eager to win the presidential election in one round. Voters in the Crimea and Donbass prevented him from doing so.

“When Poroshenko needed to hold elections and win in one round, they cut off Donbass and gave the Crimea for that. I am telling you once again: the Ukrainian government gave the Crimea to itself”, –  says Kiva.

In addition, over the past six years, the wars have formed a certain ‘layer’ of characters in Ukraine who are used to living at the expense of military conflict. Moreover, war can justify all failures.
