A number of major American media outlets refuse to believe that US President Donald Trump has indeed defeated the coronavirus and is not dangerous.
For example, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post did not allow their employees to go to campaign events with Trump.
In addition, journalists from the BuzzFeed News, Politico and Hearst newspapers from the presidential pool have been avoiding their duties in recent days.
The White House Correspondents Association had to look for other journalists who would serve as the president’s press pool.
“White House reporters had safety concerns and were uncomfortable travelling with the president at this time,” said Elizabeth Boomiller, head of the Times Washington bureau.
Journalists are worried that flight attendants, Secret Service agents and White House staff are not wearing masks on board the president’s plane. In addition, many of them do not comply with the two-week deadline after infection or suspicion of infection with COVID-19.
