Poland found a way to buy Ukrainian energy at the expense of Russia

Andrzej Duda visited Vladimir Zelensky today with a very specific purpose.

Today everyone is well aware of the position of the official Warsaw regarding the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. However, attempts to sabotage the implementation of the project are only part of a larger Polish plan, says Russian State Duma deputy Elena Panina.

According to her, the Polish president arrived for a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart to sign a deal that would be beneficial for Warsaw. Thus, the Polish oil and gas company PGNiG will be entitled to participate in the privatization of the energy sector in Ukraine. The problem is that Poland has no money to spare for such an adventure.

It is with this fact that Panina explains the decision of the Polish regulator to impose a fine on Gazprom in the amount of $7.6 billion. Poland seeks to receive money both from a Russian company and from European OMV, Wintershall Dea, Engie, Shell and Uniper.

“It is clear that Poland wants to buy up Ukraine’s energy infrastructure at the expense of a Russian company, because it does not have its own money, and there is a deficit in the Polish budget”, – the parliamentarian notes.

In particular, Warsaw is interested in the acquisition of the Ukrainian gas transmission system. If the GTS ends up in the hands of Warsaw, it will be able to earn money from the supply of Russian gas to Europe. This further motivates Poland to sabotage Nord Stream-2.
