Fights for every inch of land. Nagorno-Karabakh spoke about Azerbaijan’s offensive

The Azerbaijani armed forces launched an offensive in several directions of the contact line, the press secretary of the President of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Vahram Poghosyan made a statement on his Facebook page.

“Enemy units again switched to offensive actions in various directions of the front line. The Defense Army (Karabakh – ed.) is taking measures to suppress attacks”, – Poghosyan wrote.

Earlier, he said that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are trying to break into the city of Hadrut. The Karabakh Defense Army, according to the press secretary, is conducting heavy battles “for every inch of land”.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced on September 27 that the Armenian army fired at a number of settlements on the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh, which resulted in civilian and military casualties.

In turn, the Armenian Defense Ministry stated that Karabakh was “subjected to air and missile attacks”, however, they were organized by the Azerbaijani forces located at the contact line in order, in the opinion of official Yerevan, to “launch an offensive” in the Karabakh direction.

In the most unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, it was reported that, in particular, the capital Stepanakert was subjected to shelling, in connection with which the Artsakh authorities called on the population to take refuge in shelters, and later declared martial law and mobilization in the region.

Subsequently, similar steps were announced in Armenia. The general mobilization was the first such action in the modern history of the republic.

Russian President Vladimir Putin made a proposal to hold consultations between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the level of foreign ministers in the Russian capital.

On Saturday night, October 10, ten-hour talks with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergei Lavrov ended in Moscow. The ceasefire regime came into force at 12:00 on October 10 and was concluded for humanitarian purposes for the exchange of prisoners of war and other detainees and bodies of the dead, through the mediation of the Red Cross.
