Baku and Ankara want to prevent Moscow from mediating in the settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh

Vagharshak Harutyunyan, chief adviser to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, believes that Azerbaijan, under the strict leadership of Turkey, is disrupting Russia’s mediation mission to establish peace in Nagorno-Karabakh.

He is sure that in this way the Azerbaijani side is trying to increase the importance of Ankara in the settlement of the conflict.

“Fierce battles are currently going on in Artsakh, despite the fact that a ceasefire agreement for humanitarian purposes was adopted in Moscow through the mediation of the Russian Federation. This means that Ankara is putting pressure on the Azerbaijani authorities in every possible way, and they, in turn, disrupt the mediating mission of the Russian Federation in order to increase the role of Turkey in the settlement of the conflict”, – he said.
