Mass protests and clashes with police resumed in Chile

On the streets of the capital of Chile, Santiago, clashes between demonstrators and security forces resumed again.

The reason for this was the actions of the police against the protesters demanding the resignation of President Sebastián Piñera.

In particular, during the recent dispersal of the demonstration, a law enforcement officer threw a 16-year-old protester off a bridge.

After falling from a height of almost five metres onto the stones of a dried up river bed, the teenager was hospitalised with numerous injuries.

This time, the Chilean police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protesters.
