In the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, police began dispersing protesters. Law enforcement officers use flash grenades and tear gas.
On the morning of October 5 in Bishkek, about 2 thousand people came to the central square of Ala-Too – supporters of parties who did not get into the parliament of the republic. The protesters demanded that the results of the parliamentary elections be canceled and a second vote be held.
It is noted that the police are pushing people out of the square, using flash-noise grenades and tear gas. In turn, the protesters are dismantling the paving stones and preparing for clashes with the security forces.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan published an appeal to the protesters, asking them to go home.
“We remind you that in the event of a threat to the health of citizens or other destructive manifestations, responsibility falls on the organizers of the rally, in particular, on the leaders of several parties and their active members”, – the ministry said.
